The China Railway logo was originally designed by Yuchang Chen in 1950 who was the employee of Ministry of Transport. The design is the winner of a logo design contest held by the Ministry of Transport of China in 1950. The logo was slightly revised later in 1960s. Given the matter that the China Railway logo was designed 60 years ago, it is still considered as one of the best logo designs in China because of its simplicity, implication and representation. The arc with a little bumper on the top illustrates the train, while the pattern in the bottom indicates the cross-section of the railway.
