This last logo is the blue oval that Ford released in 2003 in honor of the 100 years Ford Motor Company had been around. It was named the "Centennial Blue Oval".
Starting on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, the first day of Ford Motor Company's second century, Ford will launch the centennial oval as the company's corporate identity. The Ford oval, the primary symbol representing Ford Motor Company during much of the last 100 years, is being modernized into a centennial version that will be revealed on Ford's World Headquarters building in June for the centennial celebration.
The move to the centennial oval is a key component of the company's revitalization strategy. "As our product-led transformation has been gaining strength, we've been exclaiming that ‘the blue oval is back - and in a major way.'" said Jan Valentic, vice president, Global Marketing, Ford Motor Company. "This is just one more way."
